Monday one of my dreams came true when I had the honor of meeting & singing with Lisa Kelly, founding member of Celtic Woman & the former lead female vocalist for Riverdance. She has been on my performance vision board for a long time! Amazing! When she returned my call last week to answer my questions about voice lessons, I had a wonderful chat with her. But at first I was thinking, “Did I just answer my phone & the person on the other end said, “This is Lisa Kelly”? I tried not to flip out. Honestly I did. I tried. And that’s how this all happend-I am taking voice lessons from her in her new hometown, Peachtree City, Georgia!
This week we sang “Danny Boy” & she told us that “You Raise Me Up” is the same tune! I hadn’t realized it! Favorite line of the day, Lisa Kelly said, “There have been so many times when I was performing ‘You Raise Me Up,’ but the whole time I was thinking, ‘What am I going to have for dinner?’”
Then I sang, “I Dreamed A Dream.”
I also had the pleasure of meeting her husband, Scott Porter, former CEO & Producer of Celtic Woman, & former dancer with Riverdance! I’m still freaking out about that too! I seriously need oxygen. Where’s my tank?
